Christmas FUn!

Gosh, we have had so much fun and excitement the past three days...it's difficult to put it all in one blog. The good news is in a couple of days we get to do it all over again with P-man's grandparents in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho! The bad news...P-man doesn't want to fun to end and is fighting his sleep with tears. Christmas Eve afternoon we did our little family tradition and busted out the stockings. Of course my mom (Parker's Nonnie) has a motto for stockings and that is: Go BIG or go home. It's only natural that I would follow that same motto, right?

Of course the excitement of stocks got to our heads so Chris and I opened our gifts as well-with Parker's help of course.

Christmas Eve night we headed over to Nonnie & PW house to open presents & stockings.

Then it was off to Paula's house for more food and fun! Christmas Day was the most fun of all. We woke up and played with our gift from Santa.

We also spent the day with family eating good food and playing Phase 10. Oh-by the way...Parker's Daddy smoked us all at the game:)



Fun Facts Parker's favorite gifts he opened this weekend are... Car's Racetrack and Speedway, Soccer goals, Potty Elmo Thomas the Train ride and play (just to name a few) we may need to add a room on the house for storage of all the toys!

Baking Extravaganza!

Can you guess what we did today?

Parker and I had a busy day baking. This was one of my favorite afternoons with my little man! We made three dozen chocolate chip cookies-that are delicious.
It was our practice round, we will make our snowball cookies for Santa on Friday.



Of course the highlight of little P-man's day wasn't cookie batter, using the mixer or licking the beaters...it was playing in Mommy's measuring cup drawer & wearing cool oven mitts. He wore those mitts around the house almost all afternoon-and is still playing with the measuring cups tonight.

It was a good day with my boy!

Chipmunk Tradition

We started our first family holiday tradition tonight. (I know I seem like a crazy, strange lady, but I've been over the moon about this for weeks!) Earlier this week I bought the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. We plan on gathering around the living room one evening before Christmas every year- or at least until Parker thinks he's too cool to watch with his dad and me.
I was so anxious about our family movie tonight that we decided to let P-man have one gift that we were going to put in his stocking: his Alvin beanie baby! He loved it!!

Look Closely

See this little face? Think you see an innocent smile? Look closer.

This face normally means we are up to no good.
We usually bust this face out when we've stolen an ornament from the tree. When we've grabbed a pretty bow off a present. When we've hidden a piece from our Nativity Set in the tree. Or my favorite...when we have put one of our slobbery goldfish crackers on the tree skirt.

No Like Santa

Parker wasn't a fan of Santa. He didn't cry or get upset, he just ran. Yep, he ran from Santa! He jumped down off Santa just as quickly as I sat him in the chair. He then looked up at Chris and I with eyes that said "are you guys crazy?" And then he planned his excape. Poor P-man!

After we saw Santa, and did our shopping, we took these Winter Wonderland pictures. *Merry Christmas*




Oh-and...I am off the entire week of Christmas. Have I told everyone how much I LOVE my job? I have plans to bake, clean, and watch a One Tree Hill marathon. Of course I'll also make time for my Christmas tradition with Parker...we'll watch Alvin and the Chipmunks:)

Boot Boy

I took this a few days before Thanksgiving and came across it this morning. It makes my heart smile:) That poor face says it all...NO, NO Mommy!!

Phoenix Vacation (for mommy & daddy)

Chris and I left Parker behind with family this past weekend and went to watch the Bronco vs. Cardinals in *warm* Phoenix. People who live in Phoenix in the winter months are wise. It was a beautiful 75 the entire time! Maybe when we retire?


We had a great time! It was nice to kick back and be Amber and Chris for a second-although by Monday we were pumped to get home to P-man. Boy did we miss his face:)

Flagstaff Fun
I've secretly wanted to visit-and/or live in Flagstaff since I drove through there on my way to Las Vegas my sophomore year at ENMU. I was on cloud nine to stop, play, and enjoy the smell of fresh trees!






Phoenix & Glendale
There isn't a lot to say about the game. Even though few players actually showed up to play-I still had a good time. And I'm glad we went. Last night I heard "TE-BOW" chants in my sleep. I wish we could have seen #15 in the game. Maybe next year?

HaPpY BirTHDAy DaDDY

Happy (early) Birthday to my Chris-e-poo, and Parker's Daddy! He probably wouldn't believe this because he knows how much I LOVE Christmas, but I always try to be mindful of Chris' Birthday since it is so close to gift giving time. I do my very best to make sure it's not camouflaged in with Christmas. I make sure not to put his gift in Christmas wrapping(although) it still goes under the tree-which I put up before his special day... I'm I bad wife!

Tonight I made one of his favorite pies- Reese's Pie:) Hopefully he'll forgive me of my short comings. Parker and I are very thankful to have such a wonderful man and role model in our lives!

A Time to Share

Our Christmas deliveries went well this morning. As always I am so glad I helped; I met a lot of neat elderly folks-and I can't wait to help again next year!



A little background just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about: every year my mom and I volunteer the first Saturday of December to an organization called A Time to Share. We gather up gifts that have already been bought/wrapped and we make deliveries to homes of elderly people who have had a rough year (major surgeries, financial troubles, etc...) These folks don't typically have family who live nearby. Not only do we get to provide Christmas gifts-but we also provide the gift of conversation. It's a truly wonderful way to spend our Saturday. This year my sister and her mother-in-law Paula joined us. My mom also made us all wear matching Santa shirts. Nerdy-but fun!

We I got home this afternoon P-man helped me wrap up all the Christmas gifts to put under our tree. My sweet little elf.

ABQ Turkey

This is a lot late, I know. Parker has been sick most of the week, but we're back to running around and removing ornaments from the tree tonight~

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Rio Rancho & Albuquerque this year. Chris and I couldn't be more proud of our little man. He is so well behaved and makes us feel like we're doing a good job at being his parents. I think we often luck out-he's just a good boy!

At Thanksgiving dinner-17 people came to eat at Grandma's house. Parker was the main attraction-and didn't miss a beat. His favorite food item was definitely the mashed potatoes! But I promise he had some veggies too, see below:)



On Friday morning we loaded up the car and off to ABQ Jump we went. I had heard about it from one of my facebook friends. It held up to the hype. Parker loved it!





Friday night was game night with Parker's Grandad, Grandma CiCi, and Aunt Caty. We all had fun; however, I earned extra bragging rights because I dominated Aggravation.

Oh-and, tomorrow morning I will be playing Santa. I will be taking Christmas gifts by to some of Amarillo's elderly. Normally I would NEVER say this on a Friday night-but I am looking forward to 8am!!

Parker and I are also excited for Monday. We are very fond of NBC's Sing Off!! Even if it requires us to watch Nick Lachay for more than an hour-(YUCK)...it's well worth it.
