Sleepy Time Moment

It's nap time at our house, so I wanted to take a second and post a new blog.

It has been a week full of adventure and cute pictures!
On Wednesday night Chris had to work late. I wanted to get dinner started so I put Parker in his jumperoo. He was laughing and babbling so I made my way into the kitchen.
As I was putting the enchiladas in the oven I thought, "man it's quite."
So I peeked back in the living room and found...



At first I wanted to grab him and put him in his crib. Instead I snapped these pictures and enjoyed this moment

Parker had his 6 month well visit with Dr. Medford this morning. He is definitely his father's child. He was tested for allergies... he's got them. He tested positive for grass, cats, and possibly carrots. She gave us this spray to put in his nose daily until he is 9 months. Dr. Medford says Parker is in the 75 percentile for length. He is 27-28 inches! As for weight he is in the 50 percentile. Our little baby is growing.

March Madness

It's only Tuesday but this week has been rough on me. I've had an extremely difficult time taking Parker to daycare in the mornings. And once I drop him off I am bored and lonely. Up until this week I've put so much time and energy into finding a job that I didn't think too much about being away from my boy. I know this transition will become easier again next week when I start work. I think I'll splurge and keep him at home with me later this week.

I have a feeling Parker is going to take after his daddy and *love* college basketball. Every year about this time it's bracketology 101 around the Sturgy house. Last night Parker didn't have a lot of interest in anything except playing basketball.



I remember when he got this toy at Christmas we thought, "he'll have so much fun with this when he can sit up." Now look at him go! Watch out world, he might just be a future Blue Devil or Lobo.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is definitely in the air! This morning after I took Parker to daycare I decided to not only clean up around our house, but also our blog. I hope you like the new look. I am *so* very ready to start my job next Monday! But in the meantime our house is dust free:)

It was such a nice and sunny weekend. I think old man winter has finally left us alone. Chris, Parker, and I decided to have a date at the park on Saturday afternoon. Chris and I enjoyed lunch while Parker slept on the blanket. Then it was time for some football!





Our little man has also started to eat baby food this month. I remember during one of our trips to DFW asking Chris "what are we going to do when he's eating baby food on this trip?" Looks like we'll find out next week.


We have a busy/exciting month planned. Mommy starts work. Parker's grandparents and Aunt Caty are coming to visit. St. Patty's Day party at daycare. Parker gets his new & final helmet.
I am sure there will be lots of stories and pictures to share:)

Parker's New Trick

Parker's learned a trick. He likes to pucker his lips together and make funny noises with his spit bubbles.

On the Move...(well sort of)

Parker isn't crawling just yet. It seems like we barely put him down and he's on the belly kicking those legs, and swinging those arms.



As we all know...he is a *very* active baby so Chris and I know it's only a matter of time before we will be chasing him up and down our hallway.

I start my new job on Monday. I know it's President's Day, but the school I am working for wanted to give me plenty of time for training since I'll need a couple of days off for our trip to DFW. I am excited, but also nervous about my new venture. My best friend Melissa also mentioned that I should start an online column about my experiences as a working/traveling mom. I am in the process of getting that started and will let everyone know when and what website to check out soon!

For now I am off to get Sweet P from daycare. He had a Valentine's party today I am excited to see all the pictures he painted for Mommy and Dadda!

I snapped a few pictures of him this afternoon when we got home from daycare. He was being a big boy sitting up chatting with his stuffed doggy. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to the camera before their conversation was finished.
Once he noticed the camera it was over. This was the only one that didn't have this little hand reaching for the camera. Our baby must reach, touch, and or grab everything in sight. And he isn't camera shy either!

Chris and I cannot believe he'll be 6 months in a few weeks. We got to DFW to meet with the Specialist who did his surgery in a couple of weeks, we should get some idea as to how much longer he'll be in the helmet. He is doing great, and his head is shaping nicely. I realize just how blessed we are everyday.
